Unleash your potential for international career success through language proficiency tests

OET3.png

Take the The Occupational English Test (OET)  for  healthcare professionals seeking to work or study in English-speaking environments.

It requires minimum scores in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sub-tests. OET is accepted globally, including in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The test evaluates language ability rather than medical knowledge, with Listening and Reading being non-specific to any profession, while Writing and Speaking are profession-specific, reflecting real workplace scenarios.

OET scores can be used for healthcare registration, employment, visas, immigration, and education. The test can be taken on paper, on a computer at a test venue, or at home.

Score requirements and policies, such as score clubbing and delivery modes, vary by organisation, so candidates should confirm specific requirements with their intended Recognising Organisation.

Some Recognising Organisations accept ‘clubbing’ of scores from tests taken on different dates, please check with the Recognising Organisation that you are applying with as to whether they allow clubbing of scores.

To ensure the OET Test meets the requirements for the recognising organisation with which you'd like to share your results, please consider:

Confirm with your Recognising Organisation:

  • the minimum OET Test results they'll accept

  • which OET Test delivery modes they accept

  • if your OET Test results are required to be achieved in one sitting.

If you're looking to emigrate, an IELTS test score is crucial for obtaining your visa, with requirements varying by country and visa type.

IELTS ACADEMIC

The IELTS Academic test features vocabulary that is common within an academic setting and may also be a requirement for registration with professional bodies.

You can sit the test at the official test centres, either on paper, or on the computer. There may also be an option to take the test online.

The IELTS Academic test is made up of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

IELTS for UKVI

IELTS for UKVI is approved by the UK government as a proof of your English language abilities in support of a visa application, and is also accepted by the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand governments.

If you are planning to study at non-higher education institutions, on pre-sessional or foundation courses (below degree level), IELTS for UKVI is required.

IELTS for UKVI If you’re applying for Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas to the UK, this is the test for you.

The actual test taken is the same for both IELTS and IELTS for UKVI, with the same content, examiners, format, level of difficulty, scoring and so on.

The only difference between the two is that IELTS for UKVI is a Secure English Language Test (SELT), administered in a test venue with video recording and CCTV facilities. Test Report Forms will be slightly different, to show that you have taken the test at an IELTS UK visa session.
